PRS McCarty (The Mule)
The Black McCarty is used for the drop B flat tunings. It is referred to as the Mule. Myles has beat the hell out of this one. He used this on a lot of the Rhythm tracks on Blackbird. A Screaming Demon is the pickup of choice in this war horse.

PRS SC245 (The Back Ho)
Myles’ main guitar on the “Blackbird” tour is the PRS single cut 245 aka "Back Ho". This is his favorite guitar. It is scaled down so it is very slinky and easy to play. Most of all, this guitar has the sound that sits very nicely with the band. He uses a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge position. He uses this guitar on songs like "Blackbird" "WhiteKnuckles" and "Brand New Start."

PRS Modern Eagle
Next in line is the PRS Modern Eagle. Myles says this is a great sounding guitar as well. It has a Rosewood Neck which gives it a different timbre. It has a very interesting attack. He has the action set high since he plays slide with it on Rise Today. The pickup is a Custom Custom. The solo Myles plays on the studio version of "BlackBird" was played with this guitar.

PRS McCarty (First PRS)
The red McCarty is used for the D5 tuning (DADAAD). Myles uses this guitar on "Open Your Eyes" and "Kashmere." This was the first PRS he bought over ten years ago. He borrowed it from his manager to play on stage at CBGB's in New York. When he got done with the set he realized that his rings had mangled the top of the guitar. Myles ended up writing his manager a check the next morning for the full price he had paid a few days prior. Myles still feels bad about that....

PRS Hollowbody
Myles calls this “One of Paul Reed Smith's finest achievements.” It is basically two guitars in one. It has similar characteristics of a 335 when you use the humbuckers. When you switch to the piezo under the bridge it turns into a great sounding acoustic. He tunes this guitar to open G (DGDGBD) for “Watch Over You.”

Dean Resonator
Myles uses a Dean Resonator for Traveling Riverside Blues. It is a very cool instrument. Perfect for playing live at higher volumes.

PRS SC250
The black single cut 250 is used for Ties that Bind. It is tuned down a full step. Myles uses heavy gauge strings to compensate for the tuning. A Custom Custom pickup is in the bridge position.
